This course starts from Jangcheonjae, climbs the ridge to Gujeongbong Ridge, passes Jureung, and comes down to Jeongwonam Ridge. This is the route chosen by most hikers. The Geumsugul Cave course is easier, but it is to see the strangely shaped rocks of Gujeongbong Peak, a famous feature of Cheongwansan Mountain. Gujeongbong (九頂峯) is not a single peak like Wolchulsan Mountain, but a general name for nine rocks lined up on the ridge. From the bottom, it is Samsinbong Peak, Holbong Peak, Sinsangbong Peak, Gwaneumbong Peak, Seonjaebong Peak, Daesebong Peak, Munsubohyeonbong Peak, and Cheonjubong Peak, and at the end of them is Hwanheedae, also known as Daejangbong Peak. When you enter the 1 kilometer long silver grass ridge, you cannot see anything. However, there are rocks in between so it is easy to see the view. Those rocks are also useful when taking a break or as a place for lunch. As you can guess from the name, Yeondaebong (烟臺峯) has a well-remained beacon tower. Not only can you see the island mountains of Goheung and Wando at a glance, but you can also see Wolchulsan Mountain to the north and, if the weather is good, Mudeungsan Mountain.
