Inheriting the grand spirit of Gyeongsang region, Juwangsan Mountain (722.1m) is an awesome destination in golden silver grass waves in the autumn breeze in October. After dominating the horizon from the summit, a satisfying bowl of hot pork soup and grilled beef patties in the bustling market alley completes this majestic climb.
”It is called Seokbyeongsan Mountain and has a beautiful scenery with strangely shaped rock peaks and stone walls surrounding it like a folding screen. It was selected considering the fact that it was designated as a national park (in 1976) and contains Daejeonsa Temple and Juwangam Hermitage. The remains of Jaha Castle, centered around Juwang Cave, are famous for being the place where the legend of the fight between the King of Zhou and the Goryeo army resides.
This is a general course that goes up and down the core of the valley in and around Dongcheon and Juwangsan Mountain. You can visit famous places such as Mangwoldae, Geupsudae, Haksodae, and Sirubong Peak. Yeonhwa Cave, Mugang Cave, Chotdaebong Peak, Juwangam Cave, and Juwang Cave can only be seen from a bit outside the valley, so you need to plan your time accordingly. From the 2nd waterfall, you reach Sachanggol, and the 3rd waterfall is about 500 meters up Keungol. It is the largest and most beautiful, and it is a terrain that explains why the road leading to Naewon-dong was cut off there, so it is a must-see and come down. It is a valley road with almost no ups and downs to Furimegi. However, the section leading up to Kaldeung Pass and reaching the summit is a steep and long ridge, so you must be prepared. The summit view at the end is worth the sweat. On the way down to Daejeon Temple, strangely shaped rocks appear every time the view opens up.
