”It is known as the mountain where azaleas bloom the most in Gangwon-do, and has the typical features of Korean mountains, such as dense forests centered on oak trees and gentle mountain ranges. It was selected in consideration of the fact that it is the source of the Hongcheon River and the water source of the Soyang River. You can view Soyang Lake from the top of the rock peak, and there are many wild flowers, making it a good environment for nature study. Designated as a natural recreation forest by Gangwon-do in 1998
When you pass the log hut in Garisan Natural Recreation Forest and enter the mountain path, you will come to a place with a wooden safety railing. If you cross the iron bridge twice along the way, you will reach the three-way intersection that divides Museomaljae and Gasapgogae. The road on the right leads to Gasap Pass. After passing the steep slope that lasts for 20 minutes and continuing for another 30 minutes, you will reach Gasap Pass. If you go about 20 minutes further, you will see a huge rock peak. A rope is installed here, and you can climb up the north peak or take a detour to the left side of the rock peak. Since there is a risk of slipping accidents, it is recommended to detour in winter or when hiking with young children. The road from Bukbong, which offers a clear view, to the top of Mt. Garisan also has a rope installed, and it only takes 20 minutes to climb Bukbong and then go to the top. Seokgansu, a specialty of Mt. Garisan, is located 15 minutes southeast from the summit. After quenching your thirst with the evening spring water and passing Musoemaljae along the gentle ridge, the descent continues quite steeply. If you walk this road for about 20 minutes, you will reach the intersection of Musoemaljae and Gasapgogae, and it will take about 25 minutes to reach the Nalmeori Recreational Forest parking lot.
