It is famous for Hyeondeungsa Temple, a temple given by King Beopheung to monk Maragami, who brought Buddhism to Korea from India in the 27th year of King Beopheung of Silla (540). There is a natural recreation forest.
There is a well-equipped natural recreation forest at Deulmeori. The campsite where you can pitch a tent on a deck doesn't have natural beauty, but you don't have to worry about ditching even if it rains heavily. The actual hike begins when you pass the auto camping site, which is a couple of minutes away from the entrance. Cows appear from time to time along the tattered bedrock stream. Batso, Yongso, and Madangso, in that order, make you wonder if there was such a nice valley near Seoul. It crosses the water about four times, and the last time it crosses after the tattered area, it leaves the main valley at Aurajike. Afterwards, follow the open Gaji Valley to the west and when you climb to the ridge, you begin to see the sky. The silver grass meadow at the summit was created as a result of a forest fire. If you settle down in a suitable place and have lunch, you will feel like you are on a picnic. The view is so good that you can even see the North and South Han River, Suraksan Mountain, and Dobongsan Mountain.
From Sangbong Terminal, take the bus to Yumyeong Mountain that runs six times a day via Cheongpyeong and Seorak. Take National Highway No. 6, and just short of Yangpyeong-eup, turn left at Okcheon and take National Highway No. 37 to go over Seoneochigae.
