Inheriting the grand spirit of Gyeongsang region, Yeonhwasan Mountain (524m) is an awesome destination in rhododendrons dye the peak pastel pink in May. After dominating the horizon from the summit, a satisfying bowl of pine mushroom hot pot that replenishes your inner energy completes this majestic climb.
”It was selected for its beautiful scenery, many old temples and cultural assets, and the fact that it was designated as a provincial park (1983). There is a large bamboo field on the mountainside. The historic Okcheonsa Temple, Yeondaeam, Baekryeonam, and Cheongyeonam are famous.
The actual hike begins at Okcheonsa Temple. After passing Baeknyeonam Hermitage on the eastern hillside of Okcheonsa Temple and climbing for about 30 minutes, you will reach Yeonhwa Peak 1. It takes 20 minutes from the top to go down to Stork Pass, which connects Yeonghyeon and Okcheonsa Temple. If you pass the arborvitae forest and climb the ridge path, you will reach Yeonhwasan Mountain at 528m. Jalumok appears when you come down 720 meters from the summit. To the north is Namsan Mountain, and to the northwest is the Cheongnyeonam trail. Okcheon Spring, located behind the main hall of Okcheonsa Temple, is rumored to be effective in treating gastrointestinal and skin diseases.
The starting point is Goseong. There is a local bus that goes to Gaecheonmyeonso under Okcheonsa Temple for a two-hour price. If you miss the direct bus to Goseong, take a bus to Tongyeong and get off at Goseong. You can also go directly from Jinju by taking a bus bound for Okcheonsa Temple.
