Hwangmaesan Mountain Weather★ 100 Famous Peak

This is the most common course that follows the Azalea Garden. Just by climbing up Deulmeori Yeongamsa Temple Site, which holds three treasures, and Mosanjae, a rocky hill with a great view, famous as one of the eight scenic spots of Hapcheon, you will feel like you made the right decision. The azaleas that were only seen occasionally begin to form fields starting from the azalea altar. When you reach the Beteulbong area and the Hwangmaesan Mountain altar, you will want to spread out and sit down. Poetry will come out if you imagine that long ago, when the entire area was a field of pink flowers, untouched by human hands. When the flat flower garden seems to be disappearing, the steep rock ridge begins. 1059 peaks, 1088 peaks… At the end is Hwangmaebong Peak. Because it is a rocky peak, the views in all directions are excellent. Nearby, you can see terraced rice fields and villages that look like “my hometown,” and in the distance, the majestic Jiri Mountain is green within. You will feel like you can hear the sound of water lapping at Hapcheon Lake beneath your feet.

Gahoe-myeon and Daebyeong-myeon start from Hapcheon, and Chahwang-myeon starts from Sancheong. To get to Gahoe-myeon, take the direct bus to Jinju from Hapcheon, which runs 14 times a day, and get off at Samga and take a taxi. There are local buses to Daebyeong-myeon every 50 minutes. There are 15 intra-gun buses from Sancheong to Chahwang-myeon, of which 9 are bound for Jangbak-ri and 4 are for Sinchon. Take the Daejeon-Tongyeong Expressway. For Chahwang-myeon, take Sancheong IC → National Road No. 59. For Gahoe-myeon, take Danseong IC → National Highway No. 20 towards Hapcheon → From Daeui, take National Road No. 33 → From Samga, take Local Road No. 60.
