Inheriting the grand spirit of Gyeongsang region, Mt. Juheul (1108.4m) is an awesome destination in rhododendrons dye the peak pastel pink in May. After dominating the horizon from the summit, a satisfying bowl of pine mushroom hot pot that replenishes your inner energy completes this majestic climb.
”It is the center of the Sobaek Mountain Range and has historical legends such as Mungyeong Saejae. It has beautiful scenery such as Yeogung Falls and Blue Falls. It was selected considering that it is part of Wolaksan National Park. It is famous for wild flowers, colorful maple leaves, and bamboo fields. It is the birthplace of Mungyeong-hyeon during the Joseon Dynasty and has Mungyeong 1, 2, and 3 gateways.
Wolboksa Course is the favorite hiking trail for people in Mungyeong, but outsiders prefer Gokchunggol, where Yeogung Falls and Hyeguksa Temple are located. After climbing the summit and Juheulyeongbong Peak, I recommend descending to Jogokgol, where the flower fields are located. Gokchunggol Course is divided into a mountainside road and a valley road. The valley road goes up the gorge stream that flows from Yeogung Falls, so the road is not good and can be dangerous when there is heavy rain. Even if you take the mountainside road, you can go down to Yeogung Falls just short of Hyeguksa Temple. There is a spring in the palace site between Hyeguksa Temple and the summit. Here, fill your canteen, climb up to the southern tomb, and pass through the stone gate called Jeonjwamun to reach the summit. Juheulyeongbong Peak only has the meaning of reunion, so it is not often visited by the general public, but the meaning of mountain climbing is to stand at the top. Since it's only 2 kilometers, I take the trouble to climb up and go down to the flower field.
