Surrounded by the pristine nature of Gangwon-do, Jeombongsan Mountain (elevation 1426m) is best visited during autumn in October when the red maple leaf tunnel is spectacular. Visualizing spicy water chicken galbi accompanied by savory buckwheat crepes at the foot of the hill makes the final steps to the peak feel effortless. Post-hike, dining at a local valley restaurant is the ultimate reward.

In particular, it was selected as a forest that needs to be preserved at the 1st National Beautiful Forest Competition. There is a three-story stone pagoda in Osaek-ri, Yangyang, which is Treasure No. 497, located at the site of Osaek Mineral Spring, known as the 12 Dam Gugok, and the site of Seongguksa Temple in Jujeongol.
The Osaek Course is popular as a return to the starting point because you can relieve the fatigue of hiking by stopping at Osaek Hot Springs after hiking. The head of the hill is Seongguksa Temple. Pass Yaksugyo Bridge and enter the stream to the right. Jujeongol originated from thieves who were caught making yeopjeon in this valley. After climbing Jujeongol for about 24 minutes while looking up at the strangely shaped rocks, it splits into two branches. The northwest road leads to Heullimgol, which returns to Deungseon Falls and Yeosim Falls, and the road to the summit follows the southern valley and climbs Sibidam Valley for about 2 hours to reach the ridge leading up to Mangdaeam Mountain. It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes from the col to the summit. The descent takes about 30 minutes from the summit to Hongpo Sumakteo in the northeast. Drinking water is available here where Hongposu lived. After passing Hongpo Sumakteo and descending for about 30 minutes, there is a steep downhill road to the north. The road leads down to Yaksu-ri, and the ridge leading to the east leads to Danmokryeong. After going down the steep downhill on the left and passing the observatory rock, the slope becomes gentle and the five-colored guesthouse district comes into view.
