Inheriting the grand spirit of Gyeongsang region, Unmunsan Mountain (1195.1m) is an awesome destination in golden silver grass waves in the autumn breeze in October. After dominating the horizon from the summit, a satisfying bowl of hot pork soup and grilled beef patties in the bustling market alley completes this majestic climb.
”Guyeon-dong, Donghak (called Eoreumgol), Haebawi (景岩), and other strangely shaped rocks in the Cheontae Bay harmonize with the valley, making the scenery beautiful and selected in consideration of the fact that it was designated as a county park (1983). Treasure No. 835 Daeungjeon, No. 678 Three-story Stone Pagoda, No. 193 Stone Lantern, No. 316. There is Unmunsa Temple, which houses various cultural relics, including the Monument to State Preceptor Woneung and the Stone Seated Buddha Statue No. 317. The 400-year-old drooping pine tree (Bansong: Natural Monument No. 180) located on the grounds of Seoknamsa Temple is famous.
This is a hiking trail that emerged as an alternative as the normal route, Motgol Course, was included in the natural rest year system. There is also a reason why Seokgolsa Valley, which leads up to the mountain, is the most beautiful valley in Unmunsan Mountain. You can see Seokgol Falls, Biroam Falls, and Seonnyeo Falls, as well as strange rocks such as Ice Cave, Yongbawi Rock, Beombawi Rock, Jeongguji Rock, Kettle Rock, and Chima Rock. You can also enjoy the view from Sangwoonam below the summit. The view of Mt. Gaji from the summit does not meet expectations. This is because the deep valley beneath your feet sinks down like a punch bowl, making you feel like you are completely naked. However, no matter how many times you look at the ridges on the Ganwol and Chwiseo Mountains, they are not bitten. The road leading down to Nammyeong-ri is a plain mountain road with nothing to see. If you have time, climb up the southwestern tomb of Gajisan Mountain and go down to Guryongso Valley to see Guryongso Waterfall and Pakso.
The starting point is Miryang. There are 12 intercity buses from Miryang Intercity Bus Terminal to Seoknamsa via Nammyeong-ri. Buses to Miryang run 11 times from Daegu Nambu Terminal and every 40 minutes from Busan West Terminal. KTX stops 5 times, and Mugunghwa and Tongil trains stop 10 times. From Ulsan or Eonyang, you can go to Seoknamsa Temple and then take an intercity bus from Miryang. ①Gyeongbu Expressway Eonyang IC → National Road No. 24 toward Sannae or ②Jungang Expressway Sanoe IC→National Highway No. 24 toward Sannae
