”It was selected in consideration of the fact that it has an alpine peak over 1,000m high, is harmonized with dense forests and rocks, and is home to Mulhan Valley, the largest primeval forest valley in Korea. It is a deep valley that flows about 20km upstream of Hancheon Village, where the water is cold. Mulhan Valley, one of the most famous eco-tourism destinations with well-preserved primeval forests, is especially famous. There is a three-headed rock-carved Buddha statue about 50 meters south of the summit. Adjacent to Samdobong, the border of Chungbuk, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk
If you go up about 1km from the Mulhan Valley parking lot, you will reach a pine tree forest area. There is a notice board leading to Minjoojisan Mountain and Samdobong Peak. If you choose Samdobong and climb up through Okso, Uiyonggol Falls, and Jujuam Falls, you will reach Sammagoljae. If you follow the ridge on the right, you will reach Samdobong Peak, where the Samdo Harmony Pagoda is located. The arch-curved ridge leading to Seokgibong and Gakhobong peaks of Minjoojisan Mountain and the majestic ridge of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range leading to Deogyusan Mountain in the south unfold. From Seokgibong Peak, it looks like Minjoojisan Mountain can be reached, but it takes more than 1 hour and 30 minutes. Other than climbing over rocky terrain a few times, there are no difficult courses. After passing the Jjoksaegol intersection, you can reach the summit of Minjoojisan Mountain in about 10 minutes. There are occasional forks in the path down Jjoksaegol, but you can easily descend by following the signs posted by the mountaineering club.
