Inheriting the grand spirit of Gyeongsang region, Mireuksan Mountain (458.4m) is an awesome destination in golden silver grass waves in the autumn breeze in October. After dominating the horizon from the summit, a satisfying bowl of hot pork soup and grilled beef patties in the bustling market alley completes this majestic climb.
”It is a mountain rising in the middle of Mireukdo Island, which connects Chungmu City and Yeonuk Bridge, and was selected for its beautiful scenery, including a panoramic view of Hallyeohaesang National Park. It is marked as Yonghwasan (龍華山) on the topographical map, and there is Yonghwasa Temple (龍華寺), which preserves the Stone Buddha Statue (Gyeongnam Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 43) and the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and Siwangsang statues from the mid-Goryeo period. Famous sites include Dosolam Hermitage, Gwaneumsa Temple, and Beacon Mound, which were founded by Zen master Dosol.
If you walk up the paved road from Yonghwasa Square towards Gwaneumsa Temple for about 10 minutes, you will reach Gwaneumsa Temple. When you climb up the gentle ridge, you can see the road to the summit with many signposts next to the stone tomb. When you get to the top, there is a fork in the road right next to the information sign for the beacon tower below. On the left is the road to the band, and on the right is the road to Mirae Temple. If you go down towards Mirae Temple for about 7 minutes, you will see a bedrock with pine trees. If you go straight ahead without thinking that there is a path, a cliff will appear, so you must turn to the right in front of the bedrock. On the gentle road, you will come to a fork in front of the cemetery. If you go to the left where there are many markers, you will find Mirae Temple.
