Geumosan Mountain Weather★ 100 Famous Peak

This course is introduced as hiking trail number 1 on the Geumosan Provincial Park website. Starting from Chaemijeong at the entrance where Giljae is enshrined, Geumosanseong Fortress (Jungmun), Myeonggeum Falls, the most famous hermitage, Yaksaam, the highest hermitage, and the summit, most hikers flock here. At Haeunsa Temple, the road splits between Doseonggul and Myeonggeum Falls. In this case, choose Doseonggul. If you go to Myeonggeum Falls, you must see Doseonggul Cave and then come back down to the bottom of the waterfall. Afterwards, if you climb up the steep stairs, you will reach Halttak Pass. When you come to Bobong, the road splits to the left and right. The left (east) path passes through the rock-carved Bodhisattva of Treasure No. 490 and Yaksaam Rock on top of a rock with a great view, and the right path is a direct path to the summit. When descending from the summit occupied by the broadcasting tower to Beopseongsa Temple, take the ridge path. The valley road takes a little longer and it gets dark easily late in the day.

The starting point is Gumi. Transportation is very convenient as it passes not only the Gyeongbu Line and Gyeongbu Expressway, but also the Jungbu Inland Expressway. To go to Geumosan, take city bus number 12 or 12-1 from Gumi Station or Express Bus Terminal. When using the Central Inland Expressway, transfer to the Gyeongbu Expressway at Gimcheon Junction and exit at Gumi IC. Next, go to Jungang-ro and turn left at Geumosan intersection where the Capital Hotel is.
